But Odeon Richmond is more than just a music venue; it's a cultural hub designed to foster artistic expression and cultivate a sense of belonging within the community.
Odeon’s owners, Eleni Tzaros and Bruce Butler – who has been involved in the Australian music industry for over 40 years, say the Odeon is the place Melbourne has been waiting for.
Bruce says, “Odeon Richmond aims to be the venue where artists, punters and industry folk alike will be drawn together in an inviting environment to share a love of music and the arts.”Odeon Richmond kicks off with live music from June 1st with Jodi Phyllis (Clouds) and Stephanie Cherote.
Liquid Kelly
Liquid Kelly is a fiberglass 1:1 scale redesign of the iconic armour of bushranger Ned Kelly, to provide a beacon of acknowledgement of groups that have been outlawed, murdered and discriminated against over hundreds of years. Their causes still remain, and spirit and intent cannot be killed.
Bernie Clifford is the artist responsible for creating the sculpture concept and design. It was then produced by a collaboration with artisan Elizabeth Surtees.
